Expertise and Background:
Dr Mohammad Khalesi is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) with nearly two decades of comprehensive experience managing a diverse range of health conditions across all stages of life.
Dr Khalesi has extensive expertise in skin diseases, early skin cancer detection and the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers. He is highly skilled in advanced skin surgery, including the removal of skin cancers, cysts and lumps, as well as complex flap and graft repairs across various areas of the body.
Dr Khalesi holds a PhD in skin cancer from the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane. He has published widely in peer-reviewed international journals, with more than 200 citations to his research worldwide.
Dr Khalesi’s expertise has also been recognised in the media; he was featured as an expert guest on an SBS News podcast discussing UV radiation, sunscreen and skin cancer prevention, and his research was highlighted in a featured interview in a national 7NEWS TV broadcast.
Dr Khalesi is an accredited clinical supervisor mentoring GP trainees, and has contributed in medical students’ education with the University of Sydney and University of New England since 2018.
